METALWORK 10 L1 (TEM10 - #681) Introduction to machine tools and metal working techniques will be presented through this practical hands on course. Small mandatory projects will be completed and the students will be encouraged to design and build projects of their choice. A fee is charged for this course as per the materials used. (Applied Skills)


METALWORK 10 L2 (TEM10 - #687) Metalwork 10 L2 is designed to provide the opportunity to increase skill levels in the operation of machine tools auch as: the forge, furnace, lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinders as well as arc and gas welding. There will be mandatory and optional projects. A fee is charged for this course as per the materials used. (Applied Skills)


METAL FABRICATION/MACHINING 11 (MFMAF11 - #581)
Metal Fabricating and Machining 11 is both introductory course for beginners and an advanced course for students with experience in metalwork. Projects selected will be determined by experience. Areas covered may include Forge and Foundry, Welding (Gas, Arc,Mig), SpinCast Jewelry, sheet metal, and machine shop Skills, Note: Fee as per material used. This is a required course for General Mechanics Career prep Students. Recommend: Metalwork 9/10 (50%) ( Applied Skills)


METAL FABRICATION / MACHINING 12 (MFM12 - #481) Metal Fabricating and Machining 12 is an advanced course for students with experience in metalwork. Projects selected will be determined by experience. Areas covered may include advanced study in Forge and Foundry. Welding (Gas, Arc, Mig), Spin Cast jewelry, Sheet metal, and machine Shop Skills. Note: Fees are per material used. This is a required course for General Mechanics Career prep Students. Recommend: Metal Fabrication/Machining 11 (60%) Applied Skills

 

Jr. Course

METALWORK 9 (MTL9 - #781) Units in this course include lathe work, forging, spin cast jewelry, gas welding, arc welding, plastics, and use of hand tools. Projects are designed to encompass as many of these areas as possible. This course emphasizes shop safety procedures and quality workmanship. The ability to meet deadlines, work cooperatively, and solve problems is practiced at all times during the course. A fee is charged for this course as per materials used. (Fine Art & Applied Skill)
