Attendance Policies 
As a staff we are dedicated to working with all students to help them achieve success academically, athletically and as responsible citizens of our school community. Activities that occur in class such as discussions, presentations, demonstrations, cooperation, tests, assignments, and guided practice are vital to learning and student success. A responsible attitude towards attendance leads to success in the workplace and post-secondary education.
Students with exemplary attendance will be eligible for the following benefits:
1.Field trip priority status
2.Course selection priority status
3.Princeton Possee Tickets
4.Free lunches and treats
5.Special activity priority status
Parents/Guardians are asked to call the school if their child is going to be away. If we have not had contact with parent/guardian then a note to the office is required when they return to school.
Students with notes for absences and various appointments are required to bring them to the office. All students must sign out at the office when leaving the school and check in when they get back.
Excused
1.Medical Emergency.
2.Family Emergency.
3.Principal's discretion.
4.School sponsored events.
Unexcused
1.Failure to meet the criteria on the excused list.
2.Note supplied after 3 days.
3.Failure to attend an assembly.
4.Skipping School.
If the school has not been informed and a student is not in class, the secretary will call home. All skipped classes will be dealt with by administration. Only students with excused adsences will be permitted to write missed exams/quizzes and submit missed assignments.
Unexcused Absences
1.Teacher informs administration. Student will make up time with the teacher or the office.
2.Teacher informs administration and student will make up time with the office or the teacher. The office contacts parents.
3.Parents are contacted by the office. A meeting may be arranged. Administration aversees makeup time.
4.Administration meets with parent and student before the student is permitted in class.
