Bill Huyssoon Memorial Bursary: $1000

Preference will be given to students entering technical fields (engineering, trades, geology and surveying)

William A. Irwin Endowment Fund: $1000

Student must possess leadership qualities, strong academic record, and citizenship.

 

Rebecca Folick Memorial Scholarship

$1000

Student must be an all-around student involved in sports, complete some community work, be outgoing and well-liked by students, teachers and parents. They should be someone who tries hard in everything they do. They may be pursuing any area of study – college or university. Scholarship to be claimed within 2 years.

 

Cody Rice Memorial Bursary

$500

Applicants for this bursary should demonstrate a love of the outdoors, and possess an outgoing, positive, friendly attitude. Preference is given to a student entering the trades.

 

Larson Family Endowment Fund

2 @ $1000

The recipient of the bursary must:

  • be a person of good character who has demonstrated community involvement, citizenship and leadership
  • have demonstrated an ability to work hard and is among the top achievers in his/her graduating class
  • show initiative and a desire to succeed in his or her chosen field of study
  • be in need of financial assistance

Scholarship to be claimed within 2 years

 

Princeton District Teachers Union

$2000

This award is given to the graduating student who has the highest marks in grade 11 and 12 subjects. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must complete English 12 and a minimum of 3 other academic grade 12 courses. The recipient will be selected based on marks.

No application is necessary.

 

SBC Firemaster Bursary

$500 or 2 @$250
The recipient of this award must be planning on attending a post-secondary institute to study forestry, mechanics, automation and electrical. In this scholarship application students should explain how they have overcome learning challenges to graduate this school year. The bursary must be claimed within 2 years.

 

Harris & Company LLP Judith Anderson Memorial Scholarship

(awarded to one student in the district) $200

Students who have excelled in Law 11 or 12 and are pursuing their post-secondary education at a recognized institute, college or university.

 

C.U.P.E. Local #847

$500

Based on financial need and scholastic achievement. Preference will be given to a son or daughter of CUPE-local 847 member. The award will be held to June 2024.  Educators for Educators

This bursary is available to anyone entering the field of education. Preference is given to a student with good interpersonal skills. The bursary must be claimed within 2 years.

 

Cascade Veterinary Clinic Scholarship

Full tuition for the distance RVT program at TRU

  • The student must maintain a B average or higher in grade 12
  • The student must complete the following prerequisite courses: English Studies 12, with a minimum of C+, Life Sciences 11 with a minimum of B, Anatomy and Physiology 12 with a minimum of B, Foundations of Mathematics 11 or equivalent, with a minimum of C+.
  • The student will be employed full-time by Cascade Veterinary Clinic in the capacity of an assistant starting in July 2022, until the commencement of the program in January 2023.
  • The student will remain employed half-time at Cascade Veterinary Clinic for the duration of the 3-year program.
  • Upon graduation from the program, the student will write and pass the VTNE (vet tech licensing exam) at the earliest exam date.
  • Upon graduation, the student will maintain full-time employment at Cascade Veterinary Clinic for a period of 3 years, at which time the entire cost of program tuition will be reimbursed to the student by Cascade Veterinary Clinic.

Weyerhaeuser Legacy Fund

2 @ $1000

This bursary is available to a student that demonstrates the Weyerhaeuser values of safety, integrity, citizenship, sustainability, and inclusion. In addition to strong academic standing, the recipient is a team player whose strong work ethic is demonstrated during their school career.

Preference is given to a student entering the wood products manufacturing related field. For example, forestry, business, computers, engineering, trades.

 

Princeton Minor Hockey

$500

Christine Perkins Social Justice / Human Rights Bursary

$250

Available to a student who has demonstrated a commitment to issues of social justice. Application letters should address not only your beliefs but also actions you have undertaken that have addressed social justice. Examples include human rights, aboriginal issues, LGBTQ+ inclusiveness, mental health, poverty, people with disabilities. Must be collected within 2 years.

 

Princeton Racing Days

$1000

Preference will be given to students who have a background in animal welfare including farming and ranching and community animal related events (Fair, rodeo, etc). Students should outline their animal related post-secondary program with a plan of attending within 2 years of graduation. Funds will be released upon proof of enrolment.

 

Educational Support Bursary

$500

Based on financial need.  Applicants are asked to describe overcoming an adversity, and their education and career plans. Must be collected within two years.

 

Princeton Posse Stan Turner Memorial

$300

This award will be given to a student that is a strong athlete that displays excellent citizenship / strong leadership and academic skills.

 

Princeton Community Arts Council (PCAC) 

$1000 

 Must be a graduating student, have taken two Arts related courses in the last 3 years (and that doesn’t just mean Art class, anything considered “the Arts” that includes English) and be willing to share an original piece of art with PCAC. A photo, a song, a poem, a drawing/painting, an essay, a recorded performance (drama, instrument, vocals). Must be collected up to 12 months from award date. 

George Pearkes Royal Canadian Legion

2 @ $1000

This bursary is open to all applicants. Please attach a transcript with your application.  Proof of paid tuition and first semester’s grades are necessary for the release of funds.  Applications must be emailed to legionbranch56@gmail.com or by regular mail to P.O. Must be entering the field of human services. This bursary may be claimed until September 2024.

 

Michelle Webster Memorial Scholarship

The recipient must be an all-around student whose attributes include sound academic standing, good citizenship, and have been involved in athletics.

Scholarship to be claimed within 2 years.

Based on financial need and academic achievement. Proof of paid tuition is required before the release of funds. May be claimed until September 2024.

 

Princeton Garden Club

Preference is given for a student entering forestry, silviculture, agriculture, and horticulture or soil science. Must be collected in the fall of 2024. Must show proof of enrolment to collect payment. Applications must be mailed and received by May 29, 2022

School District Scholarships

This award will be given to students who excel in one or more of the following:

  • Fine arts (visual arts, dance, drama, music)
  • Applied Skills (business ed. technology ed., home economics)
  • Physical Activity (not limited to P.E.)
  • Second Languages
  • Community Services
  • Technical and Trades Training
  • Indigenous Language and Culture

Address your letters to PSS scholarship committee outlining your passion or area of excellence by documenting your achievements in relevant areas. Applications must include supporting documents       (ie letter) from coaches, teachers, or community members. These must be submitted with your application. Students must meet school expectations in behaviour, attendance, attitude, and punctuality.

Grad Legacy Bursary

$500

No application necessary. This is awarded to the graduating student that stands out as a strong contributor to grad events. They are involved in communication and organization with fundraising and planning committees.

 

Envirogreen Technologies Ltd. Bursary

2 @ $500

This bursary is open to all applicants. Preference is given to students entering trades, sciences, or other programs relating to environmental rehabilitation. The bursary must be claimed within 2 years.

 

Crimson Tine Bursary

2 @ $500

Students must have a minimum of 3 years participation in the local theatre program with one of those years being within grades 10 -12. Students must provide proof of enrollment/acceptance in a post-secondary education program. Bursary to be claimed within 2 years. Shopper’s Drug Mart

$500

A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student

pursuing a healthcare-related career (preference given to those pursuing pharmacy career) that demonstrates financial need.  Must be collected within 2 years.

 

Copper Mountain Mine Bursary

Up to $2000 (divided by eligible applicants)

  • Sponsored by Andrew Block of Delta Pacific Brokers.
  • Notice provided to employees.

Applicants must be a dependent of an employee at Copper Mountain Mine. Applicants should describe volunteer involvement in the school and community. Proof of acceptance to accredited post-secondary studies must be included, and a letter from current school indicating both grade achievement and attendance. The recipient should demonstrate strong leadership skills within the school and/or community. Preference will be given to those who wish to pursue a career in education.  Vermillion Forks Metis Association

$500 - $1000

Resources made available to families with financial need. Preference given to Metis Graduates. Please send applications to vermillionforkscc@mnbc.ca no later than May 30th, 2022. (see VFMA application). The bursary must be collected within 2 years.

 

Shortt Styles

$1000 or 2 @$500

Awarded to a graduating student that is interested in pursuing a career in cosmetology – this can include hairstylist, esthetician, nail technologist. Must be collected within 2 years.

 

Princeton Hospital Auxiliary

$1000

Preference is given to students entering the human health field. Applicant must graduate with full credits from grade 12. Applicants may be asked to participate in an interview. She/he must show proof of acceptance and registration in the 2nd year before the bursary is paid out. Applicants should include a copy of their transcript. May be redeemed until September 2024. Applications must be mailed and received no later than May 30th, 2022 to:

Digital Futures Bursary

$500

The Digital Futures scholarship is made available through Yearbook funds and is intended to help support and encourage students who hope to continue their studies or work in a digital Art or Design related field.

 

Criteria:

  • a high school transcript and attendance record
  • successful completion of a minimum of two digital Art/Design courses (Graphics, Media Arts, Photography, and/or Yearbook)
  • a letter of intent (min. of 500 words) explaining their future plans to study or work in a digital Art or Design related field (possible school / institute, tuition costs, program of interest OR possible learning/employment opportunities) as well as a summary of the current contents of their portfolio (what work have they completed so far, and with what media?)
  • visual examples of at least 3 pieces from their portfolio (8.5” X 11”, printed or digital: .jpegs, 300ppi)
  • one reference letter that attests to one’s artistic abilities, creativity, and future aspirations as an artist/designer

Must be collected within two years.
